New Certification Requirements Implementation Date

The new certification requirements implementation date has been moved from Tuesday, January 1, 2019 to Monday, February 4, 2019.

Certification Candidates

This does not apply to license candidates. It is for all certification candidates including: Bookkeeper, Accounting, Accounting Analysis, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Payroll, Tax, and Excel certifications.

Certification Requirement Change

Beginning Monday, February 4, 2019, certification candidates will be required to have completed the exam preparation course associated with the exam or an approved equivalent course to obtain certification.

Current Requirement

Currently certification candidates obtain certification by passing the uniform certification examination.

New Requirement

Certification candidates obtain certification by completing the exam preparation course and passing the uniform certification examination.

Grandfathered In

The current requirement is in effect until Sunday, February 3, 2019. However, any candidate who has or will purchase the exam by Sunday, February 3, 2019 will be grandfathered in and must meet the current requirement for the certification by December 31, 2019.
